Some Frequently Asked Questions

Poker Desk is licensed by location. Poker Desk can be loaded on as many computers as necessary to provide the functionality required by your poker room.

The first year of email support is include in all Poker Desk licenses except Limited. Email support is included with the annual maintenance. If you need additional support you can upgrade to an enterprise option also support is available at an hourly rate.

You can install the software from the installation tab and run as a trial verison. You will need to request a trial license by emailing sales@pokerdesksoftware. Because of the full featured distributed nature of Poker Desk it may require IT support during installation. Depending on availability, Poker Desk will help with installation.

Because of the full featured and distributed nature of Poker Desk it may require IT support during installation. Installing the correct version of SQL Express, and other prerequisites can be a challenge. The installation package has been tested on XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8, and has installed without errors. Because of the complexity of SQL Express and the protections with Window 7/8 , it sometimes requires manual intervention to complete installation. You may need to change SQL Express and give 'NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM' User rights to access the Poker Desk Database.

Poker Desk will run most computers running XP or newer operating systems. It does not require a dedicated server and can be installed on most hardware. A touch screen computer with a monitor resolutions of 1600x900 or greater is recommended. It has been tested with systems with a minimum of 1280x1024 resolution. Multiple displays (like for player view, desk view, tournament clock) require multiple monitors, these can be extension monitors on a single computer or multiple computers.

Tutorials

The following Tutorials where captured on an 1680 x 1050 resolution Monitor. The amount of Information displayed is dependent on the resolution of the Monitor. Poker Desk Software recommends greater than 1280 width Touch Screens, this allows more games to be displayed without the need for scrolling. The Tutorial Videos is displayed using HTML5 features. If your Browser does not support these features, download or use Google Chrome or FireFox Browsers.
